Recommending a Potential New Member
Any Zeta Tau Alpha alumna in good standing may submit a reference for a potential new member (PNM) for a ZTA collegiate chapter. However, references are valuable only if they include thoughtful and specific information about the PNM and why she would make a terrific ZTA member. The hope is that the reference is written as a result of a close, long-standing relationship with the PNM to shed light on her true character and hold more weight during Primary Recruitment.
While the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) referral policies are still evolving, ZTA has made strides in the last two years to make positive changes to our referral process and Membership Information Sheet (MIS) submission in hopes of enhancing membership selection and creating a supportive experience for PNMs. There is an opportunity to lead the change in the NPC world and to make referrals more relevant, inclusive and useful. In order to be the leaders, however, we must first garner the support of our alumnae.
We hope you will find the following information helpful when answering questions alumnae and PNMs may have about referrals and MIS submissions. This resource can also be found here and on the Recommend a Member page of Sisters Only. Once logging in select the "Engage" tab and you will be taken to the MIS Information Page, where you can then select the "Submit Online MIS".
